This seems like a made-up controversy. Ehsaan of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy fame recently said that Sonu Nigam was sending feelers that he wanted to sing the famous ‘Khaike paan banaraswala’ number in Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Don’.
